This form-fitting, seamless boot hugs the hoof and responds like a natural foot. Flexible and tough, this boot adds traction to the hoof, while allowing a free stride and breakover.

Like a glove, this boot provides protection without stifling mobility. The Easyboot Glove material stretches over the hoof and clings to the wall so that debris stays out of the boot even through sandy and muddy conditions. No external hardware means that there is no need to worry about replacing cables. Studs are available for winter riding.

Does your horse overreach? These boots have a faster breakover and no hardware to catch on the front heel if you are wearing them on hind feet. This boot must be carefully sized and fitted to the hoof. Your horse?s width and length must fall into the same size category. If your horse?s width and length fall into two different size categories you must choose another boot style. If you believe that you measured correctly but the boot doesn?t fit tight try going to a smaller size or chose another boot in the EasyCare line.

Take a closer look:

Seamless front with no hardware.

Boot material stretches for a smooth, snug fit.

Easyboot Glove Tread has been proven to be successful over all kinds of terrain.

Hoof boots / Horse boots has been the alternative for horse owners who want protection for barefoot horses. Throughout the years brands like EasyCare, Cavallo, Renegade, Swiss Boot and others has supplied boots with known brand names like Old Mac, Glove, Epic, Trail, Easyboot and Sportsboot. As more and more people see the advantage of barefoot horses for both the horse and the owner boots has become a popular and useful tool in hoof protection. Hoof boots is in use for leisure riders as well as in demanding sports like endurance. The number of horse owners who see the disadvantages of iron shoed horses and decide to go bare hoof and use boots or other types of hoof protection has grown year by year. Equine Fusion has through innovation taken hoof protection a step further. Starting from scratch Equine Fusion looked at hoof protection through the eyes of the horse and decided that the horse?s needs where the basis of the development. Hoof function and all biomechanical functions of the hoof and horses legs were analyzed and formed the basis for the design. The result was Equine Fusion Jogging Shoe for Horses. Even the name boot was changed and the company decided to call it a Jogging Shoe rather than a boot. We think, you and your horse will find that Equine Fusion has provided a great choice for hoof protection. Boots where the only choice at first but - there is a new kid in town!

  1. Putting on the Easyboot: Loop the 3/4" nylon webbing pull-strap around the  back strap (heel strap). Pick up the horse?s leg and support it between your knees (as if you were picking the hoof) so that you can use two hands when applying the boot. Place the boot over the horse?s toe and using a slight back and forth twisting motion, slide the boot on the rest of the way keeping the Gaiter from bunching into the boot.

  2. Using the pull-strap: After the boot is on as far as it will go, use the nylon pull-strap (one included with each boot) for leverage to pull the boot the rest of the way on, as well as to pull the inside back strap out from under the sole of the hoof. Make sure the back strap is not pulled into the soft area of the heel bulbs. If you are applying the boot over steel shoes, make sure that the back strap is above the back of the shoe.

  3. Setting the heel: Put the foot down on the ground and allow the horse to put weight into it. From this position, you may have better leverage with the pull-strap. Remove the pull-strap after the boot has been successfully applied.

  4. Locking the cable and buckle: After the boot is on, the inside back strap is in the correct position and the Gaiter is fastened, put the horse?s foot down and set the cable in the tightest position possible. Clamp the buckle down either (a)using the palm of your hand or (b)using your foot. When tight and closed correctly, the buckle should be difficult to open without the aid of a screwdriver or hoof pick. Although the buckle has three adjustments, additional cable tightness can be achieved with different cable wraps (see diagrams). Make sure to unclamp the buckle before adjusting cable.

    Cable Wraps

    1. Standard cable: This is the normal position of the cable at the top of the buckle.

    2. Loose cable wrap: If more slack is needed, adjust the cable into this position.

    3. Tight cable wrap: If the cable needs to be tightened, position the cable in this loop formation, around the top of the buckle.

    4. Incorrect cable wrap: Wrapping the cable in this way will result in frayed or broken wires. The buckle will also be more likely to pop up during use. Do NOT wrap the cable around the buckle clamp.

  5. Insert the Easyboot Buckle Pin: The Easyboot Buckle Pin can now be added to lock the buckle into place. The Easyboot Buckle Pin is recommended for rocky trails, endurance events or on horses who have a tendency to open the front Easyboot buckle.

  6. A properly applied Easyboot: The back strap is designed to fit snugly, low around the quarters, below the hairline, and below the heel bulbs. If the horse has a very low heel, make sure the strap is not pulled out of its position, or in any way allowed to abrade a low heel. Horses with low heels may require the inside strap to be cut down a notch or two to avoid chafing near the heel bulbs. Do not use the boot if any portion of the plastic is above the hairline or touching sensitive skin.

For flexibility in cold weather, keep the Easyboot in a heated room or soak in hot water before fitting on hoof.

Normal use of Easyboot implies removal when not required. It is NOT recommended that the Easyboots be left on the hoof for more than 24 hours. If it is necessary to leave them on for a week or longer (please consult your vet or hoof care specialist), treat the hoof before putting on an Easyboot. An application of antiseptic hoof dressing, "Clorox,? or "Koppertox" around the frog is insurance against bacterial or thrush buildup.

  7. Removing the Easyboot: The easiest way to remove a properly fitted Easyboot is to use a flat-head screwdriver. (a) Open the buckle with the screwdriver. If your Easyboot is fitted with a Gaiter, unhook the Gaiter straps. (b) Next, place the screwdriver inside the boot, between the boot and the hoof at the quarter. Wedge the screwdriver under the hoof to pry the boot off. You may have to work both sides of the boot for easier removal. If the boot is fitted over steel shoes, you will have to work the back strap over the back of the shoe for removal.

    1. Adjusting the back strap: The width and length of the hoof determines the correct size Easyboot, but the length of the back strap can also be a factor. If the back strap in a properly sized boot is too long for your horse?s hoof conformation, it can be replaced with a smaller back strap?just remove the strap and side clips with a screwdriver, and replace with the new strap available from EasyCare. Make sure to preserve the position of the cable and roller when re-attaching the back strap.

    2. Adjusting the back strap (Pre-2005 Easyboots Only): The length of the back strap can be adjusted by unscrewing the screws on either or both sides of the boot and refastening them into the next set of holes in the back strap.

      Easyboot Fitting

  8. Adjusting the side plates: The points or "teeth" on the side plates provide a positive grip to the hoof wall. A less aggressive grip can be obtained by attaching the optional side clip cover. When exposed, the points may mark the hoof wall, but will not hurt the hoof. All boots come with side clip covers installed, but the most secure fit will always be obtained by removing these covers.
